Something I learned from lifemodel.org that I just love and want to walk out in my life!

When I think about how I live life in relationship to God and others, O that my default reaction will always be joy, hope or shalom?

Friday, December 13, 2013

JESUS is the ONE who promotes me and I am defined by what HE says about me and no one else!

What's next, PAPA?
Romans 8:15-17 "This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?” God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who he is, and we know who we are: Father and children. And we know we are going to get what’s coming to us—an unbelievable inheritance! We go through exactly what Christ goes through. If we go through the hard times with him, then we’re certainly going to go through the good times with him!"

HE changes me from the inside out!Romans 12:1-2 "So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you."

I want to be a good friend who love deeply!
Romans 12:9-10 "Love from the center of who you are; don’t fake it. Run for dear life from evil; hold on for dear life to good. Be good friends who love deeply; practice playing second fiddle."

And I want to REALLY be filled with joy ... peace .... hope!
Romans 15:7-13 "So reach out and welcome one another to God’s glory. Jesus did it; now you do it! Jesus, staying true to God’s purposes, reached out in a special way to the Jewish insiders so that the old ancestral promises would come true for them. As a result, the non-Jewish outsiders have been able to experience mercy and to show appreciation to God. Just think of all the Scriptures that will come true in what we do! For instance:Then I’ll join outsiders in a hymn-sing;I’ll sing to your name! And this one:Outsiders and insiders, rejoice together! And again:People of all nations, celebrate God!All colors and races, give hearty praise! And Isaiah’s word:There’s the root of our ancestor Jesse, breaking through the earth and growing tree tall,Tall enough for everyone everywhere to see and take hope!Oh! May the God of green hope fill you up with joy, fill you up with peace, so that your believing lives, filled with the life-giving energy of the Holy Spirit, will brim over with hope!"

And o how I want to build a lovely home!Proverbs 14:1 "Lady Wisdom builds a lovely home; Sir Fool comes along and tears it down brick by brick."

The powerful truths and wonderful promises I learn about as I read HIS WORD!

This is what I learned today as I studied my Bible ...

GOD drives out the darkness in my life! 2 Samuel 22:29-31 "Suddenly, GOD, your light floods my path, GOD drives out the darkness. I smash the bands of marauders, I vault the high fences. What a GOD! His roadstretches straight and smooth. Every GOD-direction is road-tested. Everyone who runs toward him makes it." And HIS SPIRIT is upon me! Luke 4:16-21 "HE came to Nazareth where HE had been reared. As HE always did on the Sabbath, HE went to the meeting place. When HE stood up to read, HE was handed the scroll of the prophet Isaiah. Unrolling the scroll, HE found the place where it was written, GOD'S SPIRIT is on ME; HE'S chosen ME to preach the Message of good news to the poor, Sent ME to announce pardon to prisoners and recovery of sight to the blind, To set the burdened and battered free, to announce, “This is GOD'S year to act!” HE rolled up the scroll, handed it back to the assistant, and sat down. Every eye in the place was on HIM, intent. Then HE started in, “You’ve just heard Scripture make history. It came true just now in this place.” And there are no limits to the wholeness HE brings! Isaiah 9:2-7 "The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light. For those who lived in a land of deep shadows—light! Sunbursts of light! You repopulated the nation, you expanded its joy. Oh, they’re so glad in your presence! Festival joy! The joy of a great celebration, sharing rich gifts and warm greetings. The abuse of oppressors and cruelty of tyrants—all their whips and cudgels and curses— Is gone, done away with, a deliverance as surprising and sudden as Gideon’s old victory over Midian. The boots of all those invading troops, along with their shirts soaked with innocent blood, will be piled in a heap and burned, a fire that will burn for days! For a CHILD has been born—for us! The gift of a SON—for us! HE'LL take over the running of the world. HIS names will be: Amazing Counselor, Strong God, Eternal Father, Prince of Wholeness. HIS ruling authority will grow, and there’ll be no limits to the wholeness HE brings. HE'LL rule from the historic David throne over that promised kingdom. HE'LL put that kingdom on a firm footing and keep it going with fair dealing and right living, beginning now and lasting always. The zeal of GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies will do all this." And the issue is never what they do to me, but what CHRIST does through my obedience! Acts 21:12-13 "When we heard that, we and everyone there that day begged Paul not to be stubborn and persist in going to Jerusalem. But Paul wouldn’t budge: “Why all this hysteria? Why do you insist on making a scene and making it even harder for me? You’re looking at this backward. The issue in Jerusalem is not what they do to me, whether arrest or murder, but what the Master JESUS does through my obedience. Can’t you see that?” And the most wonderful thing when JESUS said "I AM JESUS!" Acts 26:15-16 “I said, ‘Who are you, MASTER?’ “The voice answered, ‘I AMJESUS, the One you’re hunting down like an animal. But now, up on your feet—I have a job for you. I’VE handpicked you to be a servant and witness to what’s happened today, and to what I am going to show you." And here's a reference to the Old Testament Paul used in his defense to King Agrippa, "Everything I am saying is completely in line with what the prophets and Moses said would happen!"Acts 26:21-23 “It’s because of this ‘whole world’ dimension that the Jews grabbed me in the Temple that day and tried to kill me. They want to keep God for themselves. But God has stood by me, just as he promised, and I’m standing here saying what I’ve been saying to anyone, whether king or child, who will listen. And everything I’m saying is completely in line with what the prophets and Moses said would happen: One, the Messiah must die; two, raised from the dead, he would be the first rays of God’s daylight shining on people far and near, people both godless and God-fearing.” And the last thing Paul said to King Agrippa ... You believe ... don't you? Don't answer that - I know you believe ... remimding me to don't ask a question I already know the answer to! Acts 26:25-27 "But Paul stood his ground. “With all respect, Festus, Your Honor, I’m not crazy. I’m both accurate and sane in what I’m saying. The king knows what I’m talking about. I’m sure that nothing of what I’ve said sounds crazy to him. He’s known all about it for a long time. You must realize that this wasn’t done behind the scenes. You believe the prophets, don’t you, King Agrippa? Don’t answer that—I know you believe.” And a response from King Agrippa after Paul's great story defending himself ... Acts 26:28 "But Agrippa did answer: “Keep this up much longer and you’ll make a Christian out of me!”

Great words today from Ras and Bev Robinson!

December 10, 2013. The Lord says through angelic messengers today that He wants you to begin and increase your prophecy to many peoples, nations, languages and kings. He says, "Humble yourself before Me. Ask for more anointing to prophesy extensively. In the midst of those prophesies I want you to make and give, there will be anointing on your words to heal. You have known about laying on of hands anointed with oil. But you are anointed with Jesus and the Trinity. Speak My words from your mouth. Keep your heart pure and speak.

Revelation 10:11 (NIV) "Then I was told, "You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, languages and kings." Ras Robinson

December 10, 2013. Stay flexible. Don't make up your mind and get set in your ways. I have so many things to show you if you will listen to what I say. No, it isn't wrong to make plans. In fact it is good to think ahead what you will do in certain circumstances. But don't set your plans in concrete and refuse to entertain anything else. But also don't allow disappointment to rule the day. Be ready to change when obstacles cause roadblocks. You are learning that My plans are better than your plans.

Psalms 107:43 (AMP) "Whoso is wise [if there be any truly wise] will observe and heed these things; and they will diligently consider the mercy and loving-kindness of the Lord." Bev Robinson

I will remember to rejoice for where I am now and where HE will take me from here!

SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND by MARSHA BURNS:

Look how far you have come!  The difficulties that you have endured and overcome have instructed you and driven you to find Me in a more meaningful and concrete way.  Your days of trouble are not to be disdained; they are to be recognized as a necessary part of your growth process.  Don't lament, says the Lord.  Rejoice for where you are now and where I will take you from here.

Psalms 32:8 "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye."

Great word from Bev Robinson ...

November 29, 2013. Turn the tables on unhappiness. You can do this, precious one. I know you don't want to, but do it anyway. Take your thoughts captive to thankfulness. Not just for one day. Instead let this be the first day of a lifestyle change. Tell Me the things about which you are disappointed and hurt, then turn the tables onto that for which you are thankful.  Don't stop thinking about the matter until you do this. King David did and this is one of the reasons he is a man after My heart.

Acts 13:22 (NLT) "But God removed Saul and replaced him with David, a man about whom God said, 'I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart. He will do everything I want him to do.' "  Bev Robinson

And another great teaching by Jim Wilder posted by JoyStarters ...

Sin/Transgression/Iniquity—What’s the Difference?

by CB
There is a difference, and it’s important. Jim breaks it out in this recently released volume of JimTalks.
Jim Talks - Vol. 30Sin should look really terrible, but that is the problem with it. It doesn’t seem to remember that when it is making its appearance. Sin tempts us precisely because it looks so good!
In Jim’s own words, “Sin came to my attention first when I was reading when Moses was up on the mountain with God. He asked if he could see God pass by and God put him in that little cleft in the rock. And as they were talking Moses made the point that God was merciful to our transgressions, sins and iniquities. To him they were very different concepts.”
“At that point in my own Christian life I hadn’t thought there was any difference between them. They were three words that meant the same thing; but it got me curious why Moses would mention the three things separately. So I looked up all the scriptures related to those words and that is why we have more than 8 hours of talking on iniquity in volume 30! And while they all indicate something wrong with us, they are really quite different.”
Transgressions involve a command or a law. “Without the law there is no transgression.” If the law says you should go 35 and you go 37 that is a transgression. Had there been no law you could go 37 with no problem. If the law says “thou shalt stop at this corner,” there is a red stop sign. If you don’t stop that is also a transgression because the law says you should stop and you didn’t. If there was no sign, there would be no transgression. Understanding that one is the easiest.
Sin in both the Old and New Testament is an archery term. In the New Testament Greek it simply means you missed the mark. You can miss the target in any number of different ways: too high, too low, to the side, fall short of the target, shoot past the target—just all kinds of ways you can miss the target. The archery term literally means that your arrow did not reach as far as it needed to.
That is why Paul said, when he was trying to make it clear to Greek speakers, that “all have sinned and missed the mark and fallen short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 It is a very specific kind of falling short of what you were asked to do…for instance God asks you to love those that hate you and be merciful to your enemies. But, often when you find your enemies you just want to pound their noses—that is falling short of what you should be doing.
Iniquity is a more difficult concept. With transgression you clearly have a choice: you stop or you don’t stop. You follow the law or you don’t follow the law. With sin, you might give it your best shot and still not make it as far as God wants you to go. With sin you are trying but simply are not making it.
Iniquity is a word that means something is deformed; it is a deformity. There is something not right about you.
The interesting thing is that in the New Testament, the Greek does not appear to have any direct corresponding word for that, just like there is not a corresponding word for sin. They are close, but iniquity is even more difficult. Usually in the passages in the Old Testament whenever the word used is translated “iniquity,” the New Testament talks about “weaknesses.” Often that is translated into English as infirmities or weaknesses.
Leprosy is an iniquity in the skin; it is a weakness in the skin. Blindness is an iniquity in the eyes. If your friend tries to pass a kidney stone and his legs swell up and things were not running they way they should…some of those things are just deformities. There is nothing he can do about it. There is no way he can change that by willing harder or just obeying. He is dealing with some things about himself that are not the way they are supposed to be.
Physically that is okay. Christians don’t have trouble saying, “my back is out” or “my left leg is too short,” or “my eyesight is deformed or I have other kinds of deformities.” When they become deformities of character or personality or even deformities in outlook on the world—those are the ones that are much more insidious.
It is in that context that I want to suggest that our society’s outlook on sexuality is pretty deformed and culture is actively in the process of helping deform it even more.
Women in South America have the idea that they have to look a certain way or they won’t be lovable. They believe it. They can look at their bodies and find out what is wrong with them, from their point of view that makes them unlovable. But that is not the way it was supposed to be—that is an iniquity, a deformity in outlook. Their concept of who they are has been misshaped in some way. And, South America does not have the corner on that.
This lays a foundation for what iniquity means in the development of sexual predator impulses for men and women. Most readers would probably think the term “predator” only applies to people who are in San Quentin. However, predatory impulses are not a rare and strange thing that happens to just a few people. Everyone is wired with sexual predator impulses; that is normal and automatic; it’s easy to do. No brains required. Anyone can feel this reaction.
Next week we will delve more into those predator instincts that seem to be the baseline wiring of our species! Chris and I hope that making plain the differences between sin, transgression and iniquity is helpful.

These words posted by Ras and Bev Robinson were very comforting to me this morning!

November 21, 2013. I have heard your heart of thanksgiving for things I have done for you. That brings Me great pleasure, for indeed you are blessed as you go out and blessed as you come in. Yes, there have been troubles facing you, but you have received again and again My outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Having done so, I have put you in the overcomer position beside Me. Resist the urge to live by your fleshly temptations and urges. The world and the devil must be resisted. Lean on Me and win.
Psalm 54:7 (NIV) "For he has delivered me from all my troubles, and my eyes have looked in triumph on my foes." Ras Robinson

November 21, 2013. My purpose of coming to earth was to save you. It was not a onetime event and then I leave you on your own to handle life. I am present with you now, continuing to save you. The best thing for you, precious one, is to turn to Me and walk with Me before you get into the thick of things that pull you down. I will be with you for the rest of your days. I will never leave you on your own. I am always there for you.
Hebrews 13:6 (ESV) "So we can confidently say, "The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?" Bev Robinson

I love this word posted by Marsha Burns for this time ... in this hour!

SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND by MARSHA BURNS:
The forces of darkness are at work to infiltrate every part of the world and world systems. Your exemption from this corruption is only available by My Spirit, and you must choose light over darkness and good over evil. You must take a stand for all that is righteous, regardless of the pressure to choose otherwise, says the Lord. It will take effort, but you are well able to do right.
Isaiah 54:17 "No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is from Me," Says the LORD."

O what a beautiful word by Bobby Connor posted on The Elijah List ...

Bobby Conner:
The Secret to True Boldness
Bobby ConnerAn extremely wise man penned these thought-provoking words:
"The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion" (Proverbs 28:1).
Within this short Scripture, we discover an exceptionally significant truth: The righteous are bold as a lion. This truth helps to unlock the mystery of our chronic, spiritual weakness and daily struggles to become Christlike. What is that mystery?
It is a mystery that the devil, the foe of our soul, knows – and a truth that few Believers understand. If the righteous are bold as a lion, then it follows that purity produces power! What else follows? The corollary truth: If purity produces power, then sin produces weakness.
Shame produces timidity and fearIn light of this truth, what is the devil's strategy? He seeks to sidetrack us into as much contamination as he possibly can to render us powerless in the Kingdom of God. Sin brings shame, and shame produces timidity and fear.
By this sobering truth we may judge our true spiritual maturity: If we lack power, we lack holiness. We may have received Christ's righteousness imputed to us at our salvation, but we are still walking in the flesh as carnal Christians. Take this to heart, brothers and sisters in Christ: A lack of demonstrated power is a testimony to our carnality.
We must walk in purity if we are to walk in real power (see Psalm 66:18).
Once we discover the foremost reason for our lack of genuine power – a lack of genuine holiness – we can move forward with a repentant heart. We can ask the Lord to deliver us from everything that separates us from Him, be it carnal thoughts, bitter root judgments, toxic emotions, or disobedient, ungodly habits and attitudes. Without question, our sin is the principle reason for our continual failure to walk like Christ.
The Word tells us, "As He is, so are we in this world" (1 John 4:17). If we are not Christlike – loving like Christ, behaving like Christ, and thinking like Christ – then we have a sin problem, plain and simple. Don't allow sin to rob you of your joy and fruitfulness.
Never forget the devil always attempts to counterfeit the gifts of God. Therefore, if godly purity results in true boldness, the devil's counterfeit is arrogance produced by human pride. God likewise always resists the proud, but offers outstanding, overflowing grace to the humble (see 1 Peter 5:5).
HolinessGod's warning is exceedingly clear: "Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord" (Hebrews 12:14 NIV).
We must live lives of radical holiness, no matter the consequences – but don't confuse holiness with man-made legalism. True holiness is born of the law of the Spirit and produces overflowing life and peace, while religious legalism is born of the letter of the law and produces only barrenness and death. Remember, where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (see 2 Corinthians 3:17).
Join me in David's prayer and ask God to create within us a pure, clean heart (see Psalm 51:6), knowing that God is faithful and just to cleanse us from all unrighteousness and sin (see 1 John 1:9). He freely gives us the clean heart we desire (see Psalm 51:10).
Lift up your head and rejoice! Reject sin and shame, knowing you have been forgiven. You have been given a fresh start in Christ our righteousness.
God bless you on your journey into Christlikeness!

Great post on how Charlie cured his anxiety ...

http://charliehoehn.com/2013/05/19/how-i-cured-my-anxiety/

Here's an exerpt of what he wrote ...
“Adults are just obsolete children.” – Dr. Seuss
Have you ever witnessed a little kid working out on a treadmill?
Or meeting up with a friend to chat over coffee?
Or wearing a suit and making cold-calls?
Or attending a networking conference to hand out their business cards?
NO. That stuff is lame and boring. If you saw a kid doing any of those things, you would laugh and wonder what the hell was wrong with them.
Kids don’t run to get in shape; they run to feel the grass beneath their feet and the wind on their face.
Kids don’t have a chat over coffee; they pretend and make jokes and explore the outdoors.
Kids don’t go to work; they play their favorite games.
Kids don’t network; they bond with other fun kids while playing.
There is no ego. There is no guilt. There is no past to regret, and no future to worry about. They just play.
And that’s what I’d forgotten, what I’d been missing, all along.

Giving myself permission to PLAY was the cure for my anxiety. It was a subtle but powerful shift in how I viewed the world.

And these are the questions he said to ask yourself ...

If you’re struggling with anxiety… Take a moment to ask yourself the following questions:
  1. Am I allowing myself to have regular guilt-free play with friends?
  2. Am I sitting and staring at a screen for most of the day?
  3. Am I consuming information that’s feeding my anxiety? (e.g. conspiracy websites, fear-mongering news)
  4. Am I moving enough each day to break a sweat and physically exhaust myself? (i.e. lifting heavy weights, playing sports, sprinting)
  5. Am I outside getting natural sunlight and fresh air each day? (I couldn’t get enough sun at the time, so I did 30-days of Vitamin-D + fish oil, along with Vitamin-B. Both helped me ease up and feel better)
  6. Am I sleeping eight hours per night?
  7. Am I consuming too many stimulants (caffeine, sugar, grain carbs) and depressants (alcohol, drugs) throughout the week?
NOW let's go play ... all the time ... no matter what I'm doing!

I just love this excerpt from a word posted on The Elijah List by Eileen Fisher ...

... For I say, "Seek first the Kingdom of God. Let My righteousness do rightness all around you. For, understand, when those come to oppose you – lift up My right hand, My Word, against that. For My left hand will sustain you, and My right hand will give you the direction of counsel, by My Spirit.

Has this word by Bev Robinson from the LORD ever happened to you?

November 5, 2013. Don't think that you need to find a way out of the challenge before you. This thought has run through your mind. Dismiss it immediately. I called you to it. Yes, it is a challenge. In the long run it will be a big blessing, but you have to put your mind to it and your heart in it. Start by thinking back to when I brought it to mind and the excitement you felt. I will turn anxiety into excitement and you can complete the event in joy.
Galatians 5:14 (NASB) "For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement," You shall love your neighbor as yourself ." Bev Robinson

The LORD'S just amazing to me. So many of the things I'm reading these days has the word JOY in them and THRIVE and EXCITEMENT and FUN and it is truly wonderful!

These are both such confirming and right on words for me I just had to share them you!

November 4, 2013. You have been double-crossed by someone close to you. The hurt has been a sting and constant ache in your heart through the years. It is good that you have forgiven over and over again. You have also done well to hold no grudges. The only thing that remains after numerous effort at forgiving is to cancel in your mind as much of the memory as possible. Additionally, ask Jesus to forgive the person for you and to erase the entire memory. Together we win. Only ask and I will do it.

1 Peter 4:8 (AMP) "Above all things have intense and unfailing love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins [forgives and disregards the offenses of others]." Ras Robinson
November 4, 2013. I know you don't remember at the front of your mind, as you live daily, everything you have read and heard, so this is a reminder. Don't dwell on failures, mistakes or sorrows. When these thoughts come, and for sure they will, don't let them take up residence in your mind. This is not good for your mental health and the health of your whole body. Trust Me, it isn't just the thoughts, but such thoughts trigger many unhealthy things in your body. Precious, I love you.

Philippians 4:9 (AMP) "Practice what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and model your way of living on it, and the God of peace (of untroubled, undisturbed well-being) will be with you." Bev Robinson

And my favorite verse for today ...

Psalm 30:11-12 "You did it: you changed wild lament into whirling dance; You ripped off my black mourning band and decked me with wildflowers. I’m about to burst with song; I can’t keep quiet about you. God, my God, I can’t thank you enough."

And this is the verse I highlighted in my daily Bible reading today. I just loved reading this verse in 'The Message' version. It really made me want to do those things, yes break out into a whirling dance and deck myself with wildflowers and to burst forth in song. O I can just see it now! And I can't thank GOD enough!!!

And I love John Paul Jackson's latest teaching ...

Here's an excerpt from it ...

Jesus taught us to pray, “Lead me not into temptation.” This applies to theology just as much as it applies to anything else. “Father God, lead me away from the things in my mind that would cause me to lean toward temptation. Lead me away from the mental strongholds, opinions, false doctrines and everything else that could cause me to lean toward darkness and not toward Your light and truth.”

Isn't this a beautiful word by Kevin Robinson?

November 1, 2013. Yes, those are holy angelic encounters you've been experiencing. They're the ones who have been doing warfare on your behalf. I have positioned heavenly angels to protect you and keep you from serious harm and danger. Those fleeting and fast moving objects out of the corner of your eye are a brief glimpse of their presence. When you wonder if you just faced an angel, the probability is high that you did. There is no need to be afraid. I have sent them as messengers, warriors and ministers for your benefit.

I sure do want to claim this word for myself today!

SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND by MARSHA BURNS:

Be strong and steady as you watch and are amazed at the work I am doing in, around and through you, says the Lord.  A deep work of healing and restoration is beginning and will be brought to completion.  When this work is finished the trials and tribulations that you have endured will only be a memory and the pain will be gone.  Trust Me to bring you through with a sense of wholeness and conclusion.  Go forth in faith!

Philippians 1:6 "being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ."

The Elijah List published a great word by Dutch Sheets today!

One of my favorites parts of that word ...

Life's giants expose our hearts and character, revealing who we are. When we face crisis, trials or opposition, those circumstances either reveal and amplify the greatness of God within us, or expose our weaknesses.

And here's a great prayer by Joey LeTourneau ...

he prayed at the end of his terrific word posted on The Elijah List

... my family and I pray for you now – for the new lenses of your heart to come alive. In the name of Jesus, we release new vision over you and your circumstances, to see the manger around you the way God sees it, ready to give birth to the best prizes and promises God can measure.
Your manger is not insignificant, but strategic and purposeful. We break off the measuring lies of the enemy and bind your measurements to God's alone. May you see yourself, your life, your circumstances, and others as God sees. May your new eyes give birth to His everlasting promises to sow, to reap, and to join Jesus in the whitened harvest He has declared before us all. In Jesus' awesome name, Amen!

Another great message ...

by CB

Running Red Lifts, Stop Signs – A lack of Character Change

A big reason for traffic accidents is running red lights or running a stop sign. You run red lights and stop signs when you are unaware of your surroundings. People keep driving and do not update according to conditions. This "road hazard" pattern is particularly dangerous in communities.

When you are unaware of your surroundings and how you impact others; the result can be accidents and ruptures in relationships. A lot of hurt and damage can come as a result. People go forward as they have always gone forward struggling with the same old things—there is no change to their character. When this pattern keeps happening some conclude that "that's who I am and everyone will have to just accept me." Sort of "my way or the highway." Others withdraw to protect people from themselves--not helpful, then you live in your pain and there is still no change. And some go on a quest to search out the cause of the pattern.

“What’s missing?” There has to be a reason for it. What is missing there?

Lack of character change is a source of frustration for many leaders. They give their people good solid biblical teaching every week, provide small groups, there is all this stuff…and yet they wonder, “Why aren’t my people changing?” Or, maybe, “Why am I not making those changes? What is missing ?” And it is very frustrating.

So you keep doing the same old thing because it is what you have always done. You blow past people’s boundaries; run over feelings, not looking at what you could do differently. Needs are not fully met. You have a lot of performance going on with this kind of dynamic. You have to talk a certain way or look a certain way but deep down inside it doesn’t feel real.

If you really want to get to know “me”, ask the people I spend the most time with what I am like. They will know how I am when I am tired. What I’m like when I am grumpy. How I am when my back hurts.

You need a joy based environment where it is safe to be yourself and where people are glad to be with you. That doesn’t mean that they endorse your malfunctions or your sinful habits; it means they love you and they are glad to be with you and that creates the kind of environment where you can actually start making changes.

The Result of lack of character change means that people feel comfortable where they are, the way they are and will avoid anything that threatens their comfort zone.

God’ Solution -- One of the things that excites me as a trainer and leader is that joy is God’s solution relationally. We have a God who is glad to be with us. That is real. It is true and very biblical. God is glad to be with us. Joyful relationships with God and others give us resiliency.

Resiliency actually has two meanings. It means rebounding or springing back. When problems happen or things go wrong, you bounce back. You spring back to who you were created to be.

One of the biggest frustrations about low joy is that it hinders you from being the person God created you to be. You can become crispy with low joy; you can become rigid or fearful. You just hurt. You are overwhelmed; you are not designed to stay stuck in those kinds of places for very long. You are designed to spring back, to bounce back to joyful relationship with God and other people. This does not negate the fact that you hurt—painful things happen and things happen that aren’t supposed to. It just means you are designed to bounce back into relationship with God and His people.

The other neat definition of resiliency refers to the physical property of a material that can return to its original shape or position after deformation if it does not exceed its elastic limit. It means that when things go wrong, and they frequently do, you return to the person God created you to be. You remember what is important when there is a conflict or things go wrong.

Low joy means you have a very limited ability to recover from distress. Which results from a lot of fear based motivations and a need to justify, which is also very toxic for pastors, leaders, and their congregations. It is hard to work out problems with other people when there is an incessant need to justify. When you bring an issue, a problem or a need to someone and every time they justify it, refuse to take responsibility or they turn the tables and say it is about you. That makes it difficult to grow in your relationship.

Scripture shows us that when you try that approach with God it does not work well. God’s solution is to be able to confess your grievances to God and each other in a very humble way. It seems that justification is not a very pleasing approach to God; therefore, it is probably not a good approach for doing life in our communities.

Two Action Steps:

What to do if you relate to low joy dynamics in your life or ministry….

1. Introduce joy. Give people a language for joy—define it and use the language. People intuitively know what joy is when you give them an example. I might say,

“My son this morning, before he left the house, his face lit up and we gave each other a big hug.

His voice…he said, “Daddy, Daddy!” I was so glad to be with him. It made my day!”

When you start giving examples of when you experienced genuine, authentic real joy, people “get it.” But there can be a lot of confusion or vagueness about what joy is. What it looks like…what joy is not. So help to clarify with people what joy is and how you can use joy as a springboard for life and health and growth in your relationships with each other and with God.

With this new Joy Starts Here book coming out many pastors have already started to preach sermons based on this material. They are introducing joy as a way of life and as a value for their congregations. One pastor locally, who was teaching and preaching this in his church, called out his congregation to raise a banner for his people to be protectors. He said, “I want my church to be a church of protectors, a community of protectors. I don’t want us to be predators or possums, (which is another thing that happens with low joy. That will make more sense when you read the book). He has been taking active steps to make that happen both in the leadership and the congregation.

2. Start Joy Starts Here groups. That is the fun thing about this new book. Every chapter has assessments. Every chapter has exercises and bible studies. It is a great way to start introducing this because for many people joy is foreign. We live in a world where most people live in low joy. There are many reasons to have low joy and so you want to work on changing the tide both personally and corporately as far as starting some joy.

Three Ingredients necessary to create a culture of joy in a transformation zone.

1. The weak and the strong interact.

2. There are tender responses to weakness

When someone brings a weakness no one says, “Well, you really messed up, didn’t you.” Or, “shame on you.” That is not a tender response. “Wow, this sounds really painful for you. What do you need; how can I help you? How can I pray for you?” That is a tender response — we want that kind of culture and …

3. Practice Emmanuel peace, Emmanuel Shalom whenever you lose your peace. This means talking to God and asking Him to restore your peace when it is gone. To learn more of the Emmanuel Way read the book Share Emmanuel.

May your joy be full,

The message I received for today is DO NOT FEAR!

This is the theme for me today: DO NOT FEAR! As several prophetic words I just read attest to this!

THE TRUMPET by BILL BURNS:
Have I not said to you fear not? For, you have read that again and again in My word and yet you have fear and anxiety over some of the things that are going on in your life. And, I would ask you today, why? When My command is fear not, meaning that you are to trust Me with the whole of your life; you are to trust Me in the events that take place in your life. And, you are to trust Me even in the very circumstances that you live in and that you are going through. Trust in Me, says the Lord. For, if you trust in Me your faith will arise and you will become that which you are to be. You will be an overcomer; you will overcome these tribulations; you will overcome these matters. Why, you say?  Because I am with you to bring you through into victory in every case. So, again I say, fear not. But rather be moved into a place of humility, allow My peace and joy to abide upon you, and surely everything will be all right, says the Lord.

And then this great word from The Elijah List by ...

John Kilpatrick:
"Victory Is Drawing Nigh As You Quietly Sleep...Have You Forgotten that My Name is 'The Lord of Hosts'?"
The Lord of Hosts Revelatory Word given to John A. Kilpatrick on September 28, 2013 at 2:22 AM:
"My angels ride upon the circuits of the heavens. They do My bidding. Have you forgotten that they are mighty in power? They do not relent; they prevail! Be reminded that they are engaged and enter conflicts as a result of the salvation I have bought for you. It is a perfect salvation and a complete one. Do not fear or allow your heart to be troubled, for even now they are defending your interests and concerns while you sleep.
"Have you forgotten that My name is 'The Lord of Hosts'? I have given the word, and it is the word of deliverance. You will prevail! Every evil plot will be foiled, and every evil enemy shall fall before the sword of the Lord of Hosts. My Kingdom is sure. My will is determined. My name is your guarantee.
"Do not be double-minded, and do not doubt this confirming word; for these are the days that men's hearts will fail them as they see coming upon the earth the things that I revealed would come to pass while I walked among men. But did I not also caution, 'Do not allow your faith to fail'? Lift up your head, for your redemption – your victory – draws nigh. I say that victory is drawing nigh even as you quietly sleep. Can you see it drawing nigh? I ask you again, can you see it drawing nigh?
Angel armies"Fix your eyes upon My prevailing army. It is My provision for My people, My heirs. You are not alone! I have told you it is not a few, but many, that ride the circuits of the heavens.
"Your salvation is sure; it was bought with a price. The battle is not yours, but it is the Lord's. See the salvation of the Lord. Rest in it, and rejoice in it. The greatest and most notable victories are even at the door.
"These are the days that you must learn to release the high praises of God. I say discipline your lips to release new, thought-out and thought-through praises – worthy of the Lord's works that He is working. Let the common, usual praises that you used yesterday remain there, for this is a new day; and the Lord is releasing new things – exploits not previously seen or experienced by you before. It is a day of long-awaited breakthroughs that are being won by the armies of Heaven.

"Adjust your praise accordingly. Train your lips to begin to express the depths of your worship. Be creative. New expressions of the soul will bring new depths of glory not previously known.
"These are not the days of the faint of heart, but these are indeed the days of the prophet Elijah.
"Tend your heart. Awaken your heart. Quiet your spirit, and rest in the Lord your God; for your salvation is closer than you suppose."
Look Up!
I received this word on September 28, 2013 at 2:22 AM and concluded writing it at 3:10 AM sharp. As I went back to bed and attempted to return to sleep, the Lord evidently wasn't through. In conclusion, He gave me these powerful words that stirred my soul:
"My people know little of My chariots, and they do not comprehend My chariot drivers. It has not fully come into the minds of My people that all power and might has been given into My hands.
"The heavens are even now declaring My glory and revealing My great power. Watch the heavens and understand that My great power shall shake the heavens, and all shall know that I am the God of Heaven and Earth. My armies are riding in their chariots, and they are prevailing. They shall shake the heavens above and the earth beneath.
"Your redemption is drawing near very rapidly. Be sure that you draw near to your redemption. My word to you this night is, 'Look up! Look up!' The heavens are already declaring, 'Look up!'"

And here is an excerpt from a word in Francis Frangipanes' book 'The Three Battlegrounds'

The Stronghold of the Godly: Humility

... Our salvation is not based upon what we do but upon who Jesus becomes to us. Christ Himself is our righteousness. We have been justified by faith; our peace with God comes through our Lord Jesus Christ (Rom. 5:1). When Satan comes against you, he tries to deceive you by focusing your attention upon your own righteousness. The more we recognize that Jesus alone is our righteousness, the less the adversary can assault us in the arena of our failings.

Thus, when the accuser comes seeking to condemn you for not having enough love, your response should be, "That is true, I do not have enough love. But the Son of God died for all my sins, even the sin of imperfect love." Step out from the shadow of satanic assault and stand in the brightness of your Father's love. Submit yourself to God and ask for Christ's love and forgiveness to replace your weak and imperfect love.

When Satan seeks to condemn you for impatience, again your response should be, "Yes, in my flesh I am very impatient. But since I have been born again, Jesus is my righteousness and through His blood I am forgiven and cleansed." Turn again to God. Use the accusation as a reminder that you are not standing before an angry God but rather a throne of grace which enables you to boldly draw near to God for help (Heb. 4:16).

A vital key, therefore, to overcoming the devil is humility. To humble yourself is to refuse to defend your image: you are corrupt and full of sin in your old nature. Yet we have a new nature that has been created in the likeness of Christ (Eph. 4:24), so we can agree with our adversary about the condition of our flesh.

But do not limit this principle of humbling yourself to only when you are involved in spiritual warfare. This precept is applicable in other situations as well. The strength of humility is that it builds a spiritual defense around your soul, prohibiting strife, competition and many of life's irritations from stealing your peace.

A wonderful place to practice this is in your family relationships. As a husband, your wife may criticize you for being insensitive. A fleshly response could easily escalate the conversation into a conflict. The alternative is to simply humble yourself and agree with your wife. You probably were insensitive. Then pray together and ask God for a more tender love.

As a wife, perhaps your husband accuses you of not understanding the pressures he has at work. More than likely he is right, you do not know the things he must face. Instead of responding with a counter-charge, humble yourself and agree with him. Pray together, asking God to give you an understanding heart. If we remain humble in heart, we will receive abundant grace from God; Satan will be disarmed on many fronts.

Remember, Satan fears virtue. He is terrified of humility; he hates it because humility is the surrender of the soul to the Lord, and the devil is terrified of Jesus Christ.

I just love this about the Life Model ...

The LIFE model suggests that people need five things in order to thrive:
  1. A place to belong
  2. To receive and give life
  3. The capacity to recover from things that go wrong (desynchronizations)
  4. Maturation
  5. To live from their identities (hearts)
These elements develop when we share joy and sorrows together as natural and spiritual families in peaceful homes. The LIFE Model covers both our growth and recovery. These five elements apply whether we consider physical growth, emotional growth, family growth, community growth or spiritual growth. Taken in order from one to five, these elements are needed for strong and healthy human growth. Taken in reverse order, starting with living from our true identities, these same elements form an excellent diagnostic grid for a failure to thrive.

Excerpt from Dr Carolyn Leaf’s blog ...

Doing busy well means we are not shifting haphazardly between life events but that we are:
• interacting mindfully
• in a self-reflective way,
• thinking things through in a focused quality manner,
• listening, watching and reading intently,
• keeping our eye on one thing at a time and
• fixing it in our mind.
This does not mean that you slow down, it means the quality of how you spend each second of your time improves.
So instead of jumping haphazardly between the tasks, get disciplined and focused closure per task, saying to myself something like: “Lord help me remember where I was in this email and what should I respond to first - or shall I finish this email then look?” then intentionally and purposefully - and quickly - direct your attention in a deeply intellectual way to each task.

And here's a terrific word from Ras ...

A life is best lived moment by moment. Life rolls along like a rolling stone, gathering good and bad debris. When bad things happen, go to the Lord for His comfort and direction. Of His wisdom, He gives freely. He is for you and not against you. Carefully listen to God's voice concerning the bad things or else you could develop unforgiveness, resentfulness and even hatred toward others. God has a way up and out into His light. At the same time, look for His good and expect it.

O how I loved reading this word from the LORD by Garris Elkins about the "... release of new names ..."

Where fatalism has stolen a future prophesy the name, "Hopeful One."

Where dreamers have stopped dreaming call them a "Dreamer of God."

Where people feel disconnected call them the "Redeemed of the Lord."

Where someone has been forsaken, declare the name, "Beloved."

Beautiful Ras, Bev and Kevin Robinson! Just beautiful!

You are holding something in your hand with a clinched fist. There have been times when important things were wrenched from your hands. This resulted in great loss but also lost opportunities. This stifled your willingness to trust others who garner the same power as others. You ask, "Will they too walk away?" "Will they use me and then rob me?" Slowly open your hand, palm up. Cancel your ownership. Ask God to take it. He will give it back to you and safely guard it. Trust Him.

Job 22:21 (NASB) "Yield now and be at peace with Him; Thereby good will come to you." Ras Robinson

Sensitivity is mostly a good thing. But being too sensitive and getting your feelings hurt, or sensitivity turned into suspicion, is not good. If you will have your sensitivity tuned in to Me, you won't go wrong. It is then that you will be sensitive and discern the needs of others and sensitive and discerning to doing My will. Sensitive discernment is a gift. Use it wisely. Talk to Me about what you see, hear and feel is going on. I will sharpen your gifting to see from My viewpoint.
Proverbs 4:5 (AMP) "Get skillful and godly Wisdom, get understanding (discernment, comprehension, and interpretation); do not forget and do not turn back from the words of my mouth." Bev Robinson

Cherish all the moments. Appreciate where you are and what all took place for you to get here. Take time out of your hectic schedule and remember the paths you have taken. Taking into account the detours, roadblocks and stoppages, know that each part had to take place to ensure your safe delivery of the here and now. Be careful not to look with disdain, shame, or contempt upon any place, person or thing that you perhaps feel delayed your progress. Embrace Me and My lordship.

Isaiah 51:1 (NASB) "Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness, who seek the Lord: Look to the rock from which you were hewn and to the quarry from which you were dug."  Kevin Robinson

This is such a beautful word by Bobby Connor via "The Elijah List" - I loved it!

Bobby Conner:

God Really is Looking for People Weak Enough to Be Used

As Believers, we are instructed to live our daily lives with true goals, aims, and divine purpose (see Ephesians 5:14-18). We cannot achieve this unless we walk in God's grace.

What is the key to experiencing God's grace? Embracing our weakness!

God is not looking for strong people to help Him accomplish His work. The truth is that the Lord is looking for people who are weak enough to be used. We must remember that His strength is made perfect in our weakness (see 2 Corinthians 12:9). The key to experiencing supernatural liberating strength is personal weakness.

Understand that personal weakness does not mean weak character or faulty Biblical knowledge. We are to be pure and holy vessels of honor for God's service. On the contrary, God is looking for a people who have come to the place where they have lost confidence in their fleshly power to accomplish the work of the Spirit. Only when we embrace the weakness of ourselves apart from Christ can we become strong and "graced" to accomplish things for the true advancing of God's glorious Kingdom.

This truth is clearly displayed in the story found in Psalm 107:23-28, which describes the strong, seaworthy sailors who made their living upon the high seas. One day, however, the Lord raised up a stormy wind that blew away every last ounce of their self-confidence. They found themselves at their wit's end and cried out for the Lord's grace and help. Although they were skilled and experienced, the winds and waves of the sea convinced them of their dependence upon God.

Have you encountered the winds of change in your life? If not, you can be confident they are on their way!

Christ Jesus declares that "Without Me you can accomplish nothing!" (John 15:5). This word "nothing" means completely, totally nothing. It truly means less than nothing. Ours is a life of unspeakable joy when we come to the place where we understand that only the work of the Spirit can advance the Kingdom of God.

In other words, absolutely nothing you have ever done in the past and nothing you could ever accomplish in the future will match the unparalleled joy of letting Jesus live His life through you! God has exactly fitted for each of us a unique walk of grace. As we yield our wills and ways to the Holy Spirit's control, we begin to experience this walk of grace. Through yielding and embracing our personal weakness, we experience the abundant grace that enables us to accomplish all that God has assigned for us to do (see Philippians 4:13).

Never forget it is not by our might and power, but by His Spirit, that great exploits are accomplished for the King (see Zechariah 4:6).

Amen!

Several excerpts from a great word by Francis Frangipane on the Elijah List ...

On discerment ...

Yet we must stay sheltered in the calm of God ...

... this voice – the sacred voice of God – refuses to compete with the clamor of our fleshly minds ...

Our problem is not that God won't come to us; it's that our anxious souls fail to give Him time to speak ...

Discernment is the art of listening to Him who does not speak audibly and perceiving Him who is otherwise invisible ...

A great excerpt from a word by Rick Joyner posted on the Elijah List ...

The Holy Spirit is "The Helper," not "The Doer." He will do His part, but He expects us to do our part.

Something to help win this battle with food!

Ask myself why I am eating what I plan on eating and then if I choose to eat, pray and ask JESUS to bless my food and invite HIM in to the meal/snack time with me and tell him how thankful I am for this food!

And here's another word I loved reading!

Kairos: "The appointed time in the purpose of God." The time when God acts.

We have entered a unique kairos moment. God has heard our cries for, "Why not now? Why not here?" Godly secrets of the heart will be manifested. Our moment to change history has arrived. It will explain why we haven't been heard from yet. I sense strongly a couple of those God moments taking place on the earth. For one: There will be those who will change history with a pen. An innocent pen will become the axis that will turn the world upside down and birth a nation in a day. ( Isaiah 66:8 )  And the other one: Many who have wept long lonely nights will discover that their tears were seeds of flowers that are now blooming for their wedding day. Many will discover their once-in-a-life time moment and why they were born. The door is open!

"And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written." St. John 21:25

I saw gold pens falling from heaven as though they were thrown by the angels. They were hurled like javelins into the hands of unknown people. These pens turned into spears and swords as they fell into these hands. As their fingers began to write; books, songs and poetry were becoming lethal weapons to war against the enemy! Psalm 144:1 was being activated throughout the earth! "Blessed be the Lord my strength, who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight!" Is there a book in you? A song stirring in your heart? Poetry that keeps coming to the surface? Perhaps the Lord is calling you this hour to pick up your pen!

Long awaited 'end-time' weddings will take place upon the earth, preceding the greatest wedding in the Universe.

I saw veils of singleness that had been covering many single men and women for years, in spite of their desire to marry. These veils were actually covering them to protect and hide them from wrong relationships. Many had thought, "What's wrong with me? No one seems to notice me or even look at me." But I saw the wisdom of God hard at work to preserve these chosen ones for the person whom the Lord was preparing and keeping separate for them. I sensed the Father saying to their guardian angels, "Begin to lift the veils of 'singleness' off of their faces. It's time for them to see and be seen by the ones whom I have ordained for them. As I sent an angel to direct the steps of Isaac's servant to find Rebecca for him, I am sending angels before them to guide them."

I've noticed a pattern that weaves through my life. After seasons of living in obscurity a kairos moment thrusts me to a higher, more noble place. There I discover God had been using me all along, perhaps even most in those seasons when I felt like quitting.

I loved this excerpt I read this morning confirming that we are to speak it forth as if it were so and it will be!

We can make a difference in America by praying bold prayers … prayers with answers that are only possible by God.

from are www.presidentialprayerteam.org

And here are a few scripture verses that go right along with this idea about speaking things into e
xistence ... enjoy !!!!!

Mark 11:22-24
And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.

Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written, “I believed, and so I spoke,” we also believe, and so we also speak,

And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.

So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

As we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

You brood of vipers! How can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. The good person out of his good treasure brings forth good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings forth evil. I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak,

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day. ...

As it is written, “I have made you the father of many nations”—in the presence of the God in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things that do not exist.

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the people of old received their commendation. By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts. And through his faith, though he died, he still speaks. By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God. ...

God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are,

For I am the Lord; I will speak the word that I will speak, and it will be performed. It will no longer be delayed, but in your days, O rebellious house, I will speak the word and perform it, declares the Lord God.”

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
